Summary
Before volunteering in the WernbergLab, I completed my Master’s degree in Oceanography at the University Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris/France). During my studies I did five marine ecology internships in France, Canada, England and Wales during which I focused on research in coastal ecology, and the response of organisms to disturbance. These experiences included the development of an index of anthropogenic disturbance in intertidal systems, the characterisation and dynamics of benthic-demersal populations in relation to environmental parameters and the impact of grazing on kelp production and the influence of warming. These internships gave me the opportunity to gain experience both in the field and in the lab and within different research teams.
My goal for working in the WernbergLab is to gain experience with diving, assist the lab with geomatics, analysing data and setting up underwater experiments. This experience will allow me to improve my research skills before applying for PhD.
