Nimisha Nair

Research Operations Officer

I am one of the coordinators of the Green Gravel Action Group, where we lead innovative kelp restoration projects. After working in tropical reef restoration, both as a conservation diver and through outreach initiatives that engaged local communities and stakeholders in marine conservation efforts, I went onto completing my MSc in Marine Biological Resources from Ghent University. These early experiences reinforced my passion for hands-on environmental restoration and the importance of community involvement in ecological projects.

Currently serving as the Research Operations Officer at the Wernberg and Filbee-Dexter Labs, I coordinate the Green Gravel restoration work and manage various field projects aligned with the labs’ research outputs. I’m committed to advancing practical, research-based solutions for marine restoration, and I’m excited to contribute to projects that promote sustainable approaches to ecosystem recovery.
